Urban Erosion

 The term "Urban Erosion" itself means different things depending on perspective:

Soil Erosion in Urban Areas: This is a type of physical erosion where urban areas see soil go into water due to construction, deforestation and other human activities. Roads and buildings are impervious surfaces, preventing the ground from naturally soaking up water; this causes more rainwater to run off rather than infiltrating into soil.

Cultural Erosion — In a social sense, this could be seen in the loss of local traditions and roots as cities redevelop or become gentrified. Long-loved historic neighborhoods may become extinct in favor of new construction, which wipes out not only established communities but very often years or decades worth of history.

Economic Erosion: For example, the crumbling of economic strength in some cities. A for-profit business might leave a neighborhood (because the rent is too high, or because the economy tanked) which decreases local employment and demand in some way.

Infrastructure + Social Erosion — The decay of social cohesion or community ties in urban environments, often caused by mounting inequality; displacement of residents therefore their rupture from networks and lack thereof rebuild them.
